Firefighters Exposed to Toxins Get Second Chance Thanks to Sauna Treatment

firemanWhen firefighters rush in to respond to a call, they very often do so with little or no heed to their own safety, beyond trusting in the equipment they have been provided. In some cases, this can have tragic results for the firefighters. Making the lives and safety of others their top priority, firefighters often expose themselves to considerable harm, above and beyond the obvious danger of the flames. Too many firefighters are forced into early retirement by occupational diseases, illnesses which were caused directly by exposure to toxic chemicals at the scene of a fire. Sauna Detox Study Proves Effectiveness in Eliminating Human Contamination

saunaThe Narconon drug rehab program has been the subject of dozens of studies and surveys over the past 40+ years, and they have found that the program is effective at helping drug addicts to achieve a stable and lasting recovery, with rates of success that compare very favorably with other rehab programs. The sauna detoxification step of the program has been the focus of a great deal of this research, and it has been studied in applications outside of the Narconon program. The sauna detox is more formally known as the Hubbard Method, named for its developer, researcher L. Ron Hubbard. In addition to being used as a detox system for the Narconon program, the Hubbard Method has also been successfully applied as a way to help victims of toxic chemical exposure. In the November/December 1989 issue of  the Archives of Environmental Health, we find an example of this, in a study published with the title “Neurobehavioral Dysfunction in Firemen Exposed to Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs): Possible Improvement after Detoxification.” Continue reading Sauna Detox Study Proves Effectiveness in Eliminating Human Contamination

How Sauna Detox Used at Narconon Has Helped Firemen Exposed to Chemicals

When most people think of the dangers faced by firemen in the line of duty, they get pictures of raging flames, collapsing buildings and smoke inhalation. As dangerous as all these are, they don’t represent the full picture when it comes to the hazards that present themselves to firefighters. Another serious health threat which threatens the lives of firefighters is the exposure to toxic chemicals, in incidents involving spills, explosions and fumes released in a conflagration. One of the most insidious aspects of this situation is the fact that toxic chemical exposure does not always affect a firefighter in a single, catastrophic event. In many cases, a fireman may be forced into early retirement and a lifetime of disability by the effects of gradual accumulation of the toxic burden resulting from several events over the course of a career. Chemical exposure is indeed one of the greatest health threats that confront firefighters, and in exchange for their years of brave service these men and women often end up with debilitating physical conditions that can make life miserable and cut one’s years short. Detox Used in Narconon Sauna Shown to Help Reduce Chemicals Stored in Body

detoxIn The Faces of Addiction, viewers are presented with a series of more than a dozen animated GIFs which show men and women posing for mugshots over periods ranging from several months to nearly 20 years. What they all have in common is the fact that they are drug addicts, people whose appearance for the mug shot camera is typically based on an arrest for crimes such as possession or manufacture of drugs. People who look normal and healthy at the beginning of the animation transform — quickly or slowly — into something that can in many cases be described as a ghoulish appearance. Sometimes you can see it happening gradually from the outset, while in other cases the person looks relatively normal up until the end, when a shocking transformation takes place which leaves the person looking all but unrecognizable. The Faces of Addiction serves as a powerful tool for driving home the message that drugs are dangerous, and it also helps us to understand just how harmful drugs can be to a person’s physical health. This is due in large part to a factor which many people are not aware of. Continue reading Detox Used in Narconon Sauna Shown to Help Reduce Chemicals Stored in Body

Treatment Used in Narconon Sauna Also Beneficial in Removing Pollutants

The small town of Semic had for decades been celebrated as being the birthplace of the Slovenian resistance to the Nazis in World War II, and as such it held a special place in the national consciousness of what was then Yugoslavia. Suddenly, however, the late 1980s saw the people of Semic being treated as potentially disposable. Health care was being rationed out to them on an as-needed basis, at a time when a large percentage of the population was suffering from severe symptoms and required extensive — and costly — testing for conditions that were difficult to diagnose and harder to treat. People in Semic were found to have higher rates of infertility as well as symptoms including: Continue reading Treatment Used in Narconon Sauna Also Beneficial in Removing Pollutants

After Chemical Exposures & Drugs Sauna Detox Cleanses the Body

It’s difficult to avoid the effects of chemical exposure in today’s world. Drugs are an obvious source of exposure, but even if one does not use drugs or medication, there are still plenty of other chances to suffer exposure to toxic substances. On the large scale, people who work in manufacturing and other industries where workers regularly handle hazardous substances are exposed often on a daily basis to chemicals that can have a severe negative impact on health, particularly when this occurs in a catastrophic event. On the smaller scale, people who work in auto repair shops, nail salons and other environments where chemical fumes are common often suffer effects of the long-term exposure.
